This page is to make you aware that the admission authority for Haybridge proposes to make minor changes to our admission policies for entry in 2021-22. As you will be aware, the admission authority for Haybridge is The Four Stones Multi Academy Trust. An admission authority which seeks to make changes to its admission arrangements is required to publish its proposed arrangements and to invite interested parties to make comments. We are therefore informing you that our proposed admission arrangements for entry to Year 7 and Year 12 in 2021-22 are available on this page or on paper on request from the school between 14 October and 6 December 2019. These documents will also be published on the Worcestershire County Council website.
I would like to reassure you that we do not propose to change any arrangements relating to other oversubscription criteria, catchment area or our Published Admission Number. The main changes are:
Following a request to all admission authorities by the Minister of State for School Standards, we propose to introduce a new oversubscription criterion giving second highest priority to children previously in state care outside of England. We believe that the numbers of children who will meet this new criterion are likely to be very low and it will not have a significant effect on the likelihood of children in lower categories being offered places. The addition of this criterion will bring our policies in line with those of community and voluntary controlled schools in Worcestershire and King Charles I School. The rationale for this change can be downloaded below.
We propose to clarify existing procedure by adding the following sentence to our admission policies: Please note that it is not our practice to offer “taster sessions”.
There are also minor clarifications of existing wording and procedure.
If you wish to comment on the proposed admission arrangements for 2021-22, please write to: The Clerk to the Governors, Haybridge High School and Sixth Form, Brake Lane, Hagley, DY8 2XS or email firstname.lastname@example.org with “2021 Admission arrangements consultation” as the email subject header, by 6 December 2019. After all comments have been received and considered by the admission authority, we will formally determine admission arrangements for 2021-22 by 28 February 2020 and will publish these on our website by 15 March 2020 as required by law.
