Please report any absences in the usual way.

Our last communication from the school transport companies suggested that they are running a normal service and they have yet to make us aware of any changes or cancellation to services.

Character Academy

The Character Academy is at the very heart of life at Haybridge. While we celebrate the academic success of our students, we are equally committed to offering a rich and varied programme that nurtures their talents, interests and character beyond the classroom. Bringing together both enrichment and extra-curricular provision, the Character Academy ensures that every student can grow personally as well as academically.

Our Character Academy ‘snake’ outlines the core enrichment entitlement for each year group, highlighting the experiences, skills and personal development all students will access throughout their time at Haybridge. Enrichment is designed to broaden horizons, develop character and prepare students for life beyond school through leadership opportunities, careers education, cultural experiences and wider personal development.

Alongside this, students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These voluntary opportunities, including clubs, sports, music, drama and community projects, allow students to pursue their interests, discover new talents and build confidence through wider participation in school life.

Through the Character Academy, students have access to a diverse range of experiences, including residential trips, cultural visits, skill-building activities and inspiring talks from visiting speakers. These moments help to create lifelong memories, whether through being part of a team, discovering new perspectives or sharing experiences with peers. They play a vital role in developing confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of belonging.

Our programme is rooted in the belief that personal development is just as important as academic achievement in helping our students to thrive. We recognise that every student achieves in different ways and celebrate success in all its forms, whether through academic progress, sporting participation, creative expression, leadership or service within the community. We place a strong emphasis on teamwork, resilience, leadership and embracing positive challenge, encouraging students to step outside their comfort zones and grow through experience.

We are also deeply committed to ensuring that all students can access and benefit from these opportunities. Our inclusive and diverse offer reflects the wide range of interests within our school community, with activities spanning sport, drama, music, art, STEM and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Character Academy also plays a central role in delivering our 11 by Year 11 promise, ensuring that every student benefits from a core set of shared experiences that enrich their time at Haybridge and prepare them for life beyond school.
